SM9-5-230 ~ FSC Group 23 ~ Stock List of Current Issue Items ~ Motor Vehicles, Trailers & Cycles

This is a quality reprint of US Army Manual TM9-2800.  Originally published in December of 1955, it provides, in the first half Federal Stock Numbers and shipping information (weight, height, length, width, cubic feet) for most vehicles in US Army stock.  The second half is pictures of many of the these vehicles.  I find it interesting that there are a significant number of "non-tactical" vehicles.  So if you want to paint your 1950 Chevy half ton pick-up green, you can verify that these were in service.  Along with the expected WWII WC's, MB's, M37's M38's, Trailers & Tanks, you have Lincoln, Cadillac, Packard, Chevy & Ford Sedans.  CJ3A's, Bicycles, and most commercial pick-up trucks for the early fifties are included.   It is amazing just how many vehicles Army was operating between WWII (Korea) and Vietnam.

From the Manual:

 I.  DISC GROUP 23 MOTOR VEHICLES, TRAILERS, AND CYCLES

FSC Class 2310 Passenger Motor Vehicles 2320 Trucks and Truck-Tractors 2330 Trailers 2340 Motorcycles, Motor Scooters, and Bicycles 2350 Tanks and Self-propelled Weapons

This stock list is correct to 1 August 1955
