TM10-1332 ~ Indian Motorcycle ~ Model 340B ~ 74 Cubic Inch ~ Parts List

This is a quality reprint of US Army Manual TM 10 1332.  Originally published in November, 1941, it is the primary parts list for the military version of the Chief with a right hand side car.  This motorcycle is very similar to the late prewar Chiefs.  I believe the greatest difference in the taillight.  Forks are leaf spring with plunger suspension in the rear.  The engine information and transmission is the same for all 74, including post war 74 inch Chiefs.

Introduction

 This book contains a complete list of all parts used in the construction of the model 340-B military motorcycle on:

 UNITED STATES ARMY WAR DEPARTMENT

 CONTRACT NO. DA-W-398 - Q.M. 47 WITH

 ENGINE NOS. CDO-4275 TO CDO-4374

 All parts included in an assembly unit are indented under the assembly number where such parts may be purchased separately.

 Parts manufactured by any company other than the Indian Motocycle Company carry the original maker's number.

 ENGINE AND SERIAL NUMBERS

 The engine number is located on the left crankcase just below the front cylinder.

 The serial number is located on the left side of the motorcycle frame at the rear axle.
